Hey guys. Just a quick question.

I'm currently feeding my boys (with the exception of Charlie who is still on Mazuri) PANR. Andrew and Dylan are thriving off of it. Andrew is in the high 800's and Dylan is around 680g and both are gaining on it. Bryson, however, doesn't seem to be gaining or losing on it. When I got him his was plump but on Kaytee. Then I switched him to Mazuri for a while, but we were having problems with poop and he had dropped weight on it so we switched to PANR and poop problems cleared but still no weight gain.

He's eating and I have bought 4 bags already so it's been fresh. I just don't see how he dropped weight and can’t gain it back. When he was on Kaytee he was a baby weighing around 400g according to vet papers I have. Now he is about a year and a half old and is weighing in around 635g as of today. He has gained when he grew, but he is very skinny now. I can feel his ribs and his hip bones. I have had fecals run and ran some myself. He doesn't have parasites and I see him eat all the time. He's drinking fresh RO water and getting good hay every day. He doesn't have a wheel so he's definitely not running too much, and he's not stressed that I know of.

I don't know what the deal is. Should I try a new food? I guess my only new good options are Oxbow or another rabbit pellet. I would hate to switch him and have to switch Dylan too since they are roomies. Dylan is doing awesome on PANR.

Any tips on how to plump him up or any clue as to what could be going on is helpful.

Thanks!

That's not a bad weight. And even at a healthy weight, some bones are still more prominent than others, they don't have much meat on them and are more fur than anything. If nothing's wrong with him(parasites, etc), then he's probably just plateaued out. Not all chins are 800+g chins.

I had a similar thing with one of my chins, he was up around 750 but was eating bad fatty snacks, so when he was put on a better diet, obviously he lost.
He has lots of other issues now but I do give him lifeline everyday.

Those weights sound pretty good. do you give him any treats? maybe you could give him 1/2 of a shredded wheat every night? if it doesnt help than that is probably the weight he is supposed to be.
