Lesson learned here, maybe for you too!

----

So this is a new one…at least for me.

I like to say goodnight to Handbag before I go to bed and I usually put my nose in his face so he can put his little paws on me and check out my face.

So last night I was doing this when in a nano-second, Handbag pulled my little tiny, diamond stud almost completely out of nose. I was shocked. He was so quick and so precise. Talk about being distracted by the shinies. lol. I really can't believe he was so accurate without touching my nose with his teeth.

Needless to say I screamed and sent Handbag running. But as usual with him, loud noises are hardly a deterrent to having fun so he was back up to me in no time, keeping him a safe distance from my nose.

Thank goodness the stud has a little ball at the end that prevents it from coming out so easily otherwise I might have had an emergency on my hands.

As usual with doing something wicked, Handbag was more than pleased with this attempted theft.

Lol. Yep, they're sneaky little buggers! I lost count of the number of eye glasses, earrings, and pieces of jewelry/clothing I've read about chins swiping right off their humans. :D

My (now ex's) chin had a thing for sticking his tongue/nose up my left nostril. But only the left one. The day he tried to pry it open with his little hands to get a better angle was the day I stopped trying to give/get kisses face to face.

Herby does this with my nose stud too! I do the same thing with her at night, and she always tries to take my stud out. Last night she actually got it half way out, not pretty easy to do since it is a nose screw, and it HURT! Now I know not to let her near my nose! :)

Shelly has been on a mission to get the studs out of my ears. She sits on my shoulder and will after them. Cute little thieves we have.

I have a couple of the L-shaped nose screws, they don't come out as easily as the straight ones. Sebastian has tried to pull them out a few times but he's never been successful! He's also tried to pull on my earrings a few times, but they are captive bead rings and they don't come out ever. It does hurt a bit though, I know they're just curious critters!

Oh my god!! HAHA!! That's ridiculous.

I'm glad Chloe hasn't found out I have a tongue ring yet. And now she never will!!

Annie, I hope you didn't hurt his wittle teeff.
I am always amazed how strong chins can be. Sammy used to bite me when I needed to handle him, but somehow he would lunge out of his house and just barely.....bite with tiny indentations. How does he instantly know how far to close his mouth?? I mean it was a different part/width of my hand/arm each time

Tee hee, Handbag you devil. Thanks for letting us know this one, Annieo. I'll be sure to be careful when I'm wearing earrings around Chipper. That would just not be right. I don't have a habit of wearing them because I've been told birds will fidgit with jewelry too and I don't want any of them choking on my studs either. I have noticed that Chipper has an interest in gold, though. He nibbles on my wedding ring from time to time. He wants the band and one of my cockatiels wants the engagement ring. Pets with expensive taste. Gotta love 'em!

So funny...because it has happened to me. Trixie is often fascinated by my stud earrings, and will often try to yank one out of my ear. As with Handbag, she has never succeeded.

Careful, my "teil popped the diamond out of my wedding ring and it wasn't a cheap ring.

I'm trying to train her to stop biting me anywhere because I know she's doing it because she's nervous. She goes for the hard things because she seems to know she can bite down, but I hear you. I definitely don't want her swallowing that "seed"! Not good for her. I try to remember to take it off when I handle her. Sorry to hear about your ring. Did your 'tiel swallow the stone?

Chipper tastes everything and tugs gently. My concern with him is damage to his teeth and wear on my wedding band. My only other jewelry is a metal watch that both have also tasted. "No chewing on the watch!" That comes off now too. I've got that silly thing about not taking off the wedding band. :)

Well I was in the recliner chair with my feet up and he was walking around on my body. He was playing with the ring and I saw something fly up in the air. I thought he had chipped his beak but when I got up off the chair I saw a flash, looked and saw my diamond on the floor.
