My chinchilla nibbled me the other day, and i was just wondering what it meant. It wasn't a bite, just a little nibble on my hand. I was wondering, what does it mean?

Is it the same as a bite, for defense? Or what?

I get nibbled all the time from my guys. I like to think it's a love bite as they aren't trying to hurt me in any way. You might has a salty taste on your skin or something they like.

She most likely would be tasting you, make sure your hands don't smell like treats before you handle her or else you might get a bite since she thinks you have a treat!

Chinchillas are like toddlers. They use their mouths to investigate their world.

Toddlers are less explorative! ;)

My chin nibbles on everything from my lips after I have brushed my teeth to my engagement ring as I am feeding her or having cuddle time with her! I think it is her way of telling me she approves of my breath and thank you for feeding her and loving her so much!

I personally think they're "love nibbles"! Not all of them do it until they're really comfortable with you!
You'll know the difference - with a intentional bite, they draw blood, and it really hurts!!
