Just saying hello to the community. I am a new owner of two chinchillas that I recently purchased from mt zion chinchillas. One violet and one dark ebony, both are males. Their names are Miles (violet) and Dez (ebony) . I look forward into learning more each day from the info i receive here. Thank you !:thumbsup:

Congrats on your new chinnies!

Ill give you (2) the same advise i got when i first came here.
1. Make sure they are both males. Its harder to tell then one might think. And ppl have been known to get it wrong. And its not a surprise you want to wake up to one day. (Trust me on that one!)

And 2. When you can, remove that metal ladder and maybe consider a wooden perch or something. Chins can get there little feet and legs caught in the space on there. It can cause broken limbs, chewed off limbs, or even worse. And the perch will allow them to hop up which is more natural for them anyway.

Love the colors on them. They look so friendly!

Thank you guys. Yes they're really friendly..i was getting my fleece liner for the ladder..i bought some more lava ledges but i need.to still piece things together..any input or help along with my research is much aporeciated..
