And a happy Momma!

My back is killing me, but it was for a good cause. I made two new cage sets for Riku & Roxas, and Axel. R & R have always just had mismatched items. Riku leaks urine, and because of that the cage just always looked horrible. On top of that, those two are the messiest chins I have ever seen. I bought some brown/polka dot liners from someone here who didn't want them anymore, so I went on a search at Joanne's this morning (knowing the fleece was 50% off) for something to match. I didn't find the exact pattern, but I don't think they look bad together.

It has always been so hard to clean the urine the long shelf in the back of the cage (you can see it in the first picture), so I made the decision to take out most of the wood shelves (except the small ones in front that I can easily clean) and put the FN shelf back in. I made "pillow cases" out of fleece for them, which are now changed out every cage cleaning like the bottom liner. Yay for now as difficult clean up! Also, even though the pattern is cute, I went with brown because of the urine issue. This way you don't see the mess as much (and the poo kinda blends into the brown as well!)

Well, after doing their cage I started looking at Axel's. Axel had a very cute pattern that I loved when I first got it, but the red just didn't do anything for his violet color. It made his coloring look muddy, red, and he just didn't look as pretty as he should. The more I looked at it the more it bugged me. So...I went back to Joanne's. :p

He also normally had a red liner with paw prints on it, so there was even more red going on.

Needless to say, I'm pooped!

Haha, yea brown was probably a good choice! I probably wouldn't have noticed the pattern was different if you didn't mention it. They look pretty much the same, except one doesn't have blue dots, I think?

Looks quite nice. Great job.

Ooooo I like the print on Axel's tube & hammock. Both cages look so much better! They were fine before but... you know what I'm trying to say :D

I think there's some people on this forum who should go into the 'interior cage decorating' business... ;) You know... What to get, where to put it, etc...

LOVE the patterns. The cages look great!

I totally want to redo mine too but fleece is sooooooooooo expensive around here. I am hoping to get someone to make them for me. :)

Thanks everyone! My back is KILLING me today. I have no idea if it's from the sewing, or what, but man alive this is horrible!
