Hi All,
New to the forum and could use some advice.
The family is looking to get a Chin soon, and in the process of getting the cage ready. We went with the Feisty Ferret Cage due to the lower cost, and the need for a smaller cage to fit our Chin room.
I covered the floor with ceramic tiles and plan on using a fleece liner with a small pyrex litter pan.
I made all of the shelves and hideaway with KD pine, non-toxic glue, and stainless steel hardware. I'm really not sure if the shelf design/spacing is ok or not. Could really use some feedback about that.
I ordered fleece liners for the bottom, a fleece hammock, and a fleece covered pipe to hang in the upper half of the cage.
I also re-enforced the Chin Spin with aluminum bars as I read that this cage has weak weld points. Its seems pretty secure, but I hope it will hold up.
The bottom guards are improvised from aluminum floor thresholds hung by stainless steel S hooks.
Also, I have some really nice pieces of limestone leftover from a bathroom re-model. It gets nice and cool, more so than the ceramic. Is limestone safe? and should I velcro tile to the wood for the upper floors.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
