Our mommy just had her first litter -- 2 and they are adorable! She is nursing and being a good mom -- when is it ok to let her bathe?

Thanks!!:grouphug:

Yay! post pictures! As for the dust bath, you'd need experienced breeders for that but I'm pretty sure as soon as she's ready. Don't take my word for it though.

Some people say 10 days after, some say right after. I dust whenever I usually dust. If it happens to be the day after, then that's when I dust. I don't hold it back while all the other chins in the barn get to dust. I've even dusted the day of delivery, not realizing mom was going to go that day.

Agreed with Peggy. I dust when I dust, and if she happened to litter then she gets dusted anyway :).

I was once told "When a human being gives birth; the one thing she wants after is to get cleaned and bathe....don't you think its the same for chinchillas?"

Thanks everyone -- you are quite right -- I couldn't wait to bathe as well! Will get her a bath ASAP. I posted a pic but for some reason it isn't showing. Will get them up ASAP as well.

Thanks again!
