Made this cute little ladder tonight for Handbag. Bought some 1"x1" kd pine moulding from Home Depot for $.81/ft (total 2 feet for a total of $1.62), used some leftover sisal rope (unbraided it to thread through holes, put scotch tape on ends first) to make a swinging bridge. Cut the original 2ft. piece down to 4" sections and then drilled two holes in each. Handbag loves it! Been swinging' in it all night.

Gave her a raisin for her efforts. :hammock:

While I do commend you for your efforts.... and I would never have the patience for such a thing... the first thing I thought of when looking at that is that I could see your chin sitting on the bridge... and chewing one of the sisal ropes that holds it up... and down it goes. Just a thought.

P.S. Cheerios or small pinches of oats are better treats (and less harmful) than raisins.

That is awesome and I think I will now try to make a bridge. I've been wanting one. Isn't there someone who sells those on this forum? I can't remember her name. You may want to change the roping to metal wire (I use wire to secure their wheel more tightly to the side of the FN cage and it's very flexible...from Home Depot), in case your chin does decide to chew on the rope. Wouldn't want her getting hurt! Thanks for the idea!!

Thanks. I ended up keeping the rope because there are no gaps between the wood. But I did knot it tight on the ends and trimmed it very close. I then attached eye hooks on the ends and attached it to the cage with wire through the eye hooks.

It really didn't take that long with a saw and a drill. I considered it as a workout for my arms so I didn't need to go to the gym that day.

Please replace the sisal with metal wire. Take it from the caretaker of two tripods, both came to me after having legs amputated from cage accidents, it's not worth the risk of her chewing down her bridge while sitting on it and ending up hurt or dead from a fall.
