My aunt just got a new kitten. He was a stray we found at the shelter. Poor baby, he was found with his whiskers burnt off. He is so sweet and tiny! He is about 7 weeks old and weighs only 2 pounds. His name is Charlie.

He is doing well except he has am upset tummy. We took him to the vet and they gave him special food and medicine for worms. He was doing better until the food was gone and he went back to his kibble, iams kitten proactive health, and the diarrhea came back. So back to the vet, more special food, different parasite medicine, but the vet and us are wondering if it is the food.

Any advise or suggestions for food for a kitty with a sensitive tummy?

As with chins and dogs, sudden changes can cause upset tummys in anything!
Get some of the vets food, and change over a little at a time!
Very cute Kitten!!

Aw he's beautiful! It would probably be best if he stayed on the vet's food for now and once he's more settled in you could try to ease him into something more common. Nutro Natural Choice is good for sensitive stomachs and allergic animals. My sister in law used it for her puppy with some plain yogurt but I wouldn't do that with a cat without asking the vet first.

Cats need a long change, just like chinchillas do when you switch a feed. Whatever you decide to feed him, make sure to change over very slowly. And if what the vet gave you is Science Diet, I'd change off as soon as possible. Not only do they use questionable ingredients from equally questionable sources, but their testing standards aren't what I like to see in terms of "success".

Try here for the ingredients of at least one amazing food that I wish my older foster kitty would eat: http://www.bluebuff.com/sample/true-blue-results-cat.php

One of them had issues with it (I think), the younger one was on it for 2 weeks and almost doubled in growth, which is a big deal when he came to me in almost the same condition as Charlie was/is. The one with the tummy issues on Blue also had them on Wellness (another excellent food for the right animal), Taste of the Wild (which isn't as good, but I consider a good compromise for the issue I'm dealing with), Iambs and even the bottom of the barrel Walmart generic crap. She just... can't eat anything, it seems. :(

Iams really isn't that great of a food. See if you have something holistic, chicken soup for the pet lovers soul is a great food!
