New kit ear problem

I have a 4 day old kit.today I noticed that it's ear was Folded over .I gently used a warm paper towel and massaged it till it opened. It looks like ear wax on the outside. What can this mean? Do I need to bring it to the vet? Or is this left over gunk from being born? Another fact was that it was a twin the other baby we found had passed away.that baby seemed kinda flattened,would the mom have done this? It was so weird the kit was fine in the morning then just was gone by the afternoon

As long as the ear stays open the kit should be fine. The substance is probably birth fluid. The kit who died may have passed from natural causes and mom sat on him to keep him warm or nurse.
