Wow, you've got one PREGNANT cat there! :) She is very pretty. Her sister is a cutie, too.

RJ and I had two litters of kittens last summer from two strays that started hanging around. They were so much fun, but man, nine kittens is a lot of work!! Best of luck to you!!! :)

Cleo's having her kittens now!!! WAY sooner than I expected. So far one tortie w/white (I assume female). More on the way!

She had EIGHT. I saw two and three born, then a couple hours passed an no more kittens or contractions. I had to work early this morning and I figured I was freaking her out by being there anyway, so I went to bed. Woke up three hours later and found the other five. =p Got the official sex count and photos as soon as I got home from work.

#1 Blue patched tabby female (I should learn to let them dry off before determining their colors). She's missing two toes on her rear foot. =(

#2 Dilute calico (???) female - not sure on her color as there's just not enough of it! Though I think I see some cream flecks in there with the blue.

#3 Red and white male.

#4 Cream (and white? too light to tell yet) male.

Cream and red boys together to show off the dilution gene:

#5 Calico female. She is very tiny, only 57g. =(

#6 Cream and white male. He was born outside the kittening cage, in this tube double cat house thing I have, and just left there, placenta still attached. I found him crying this morning and placed him back in the nest, and Cleo finished cleaning him off.

#7 Brown tabby male - he looks solid but may have a white spot on his underside, its too pink for me to tell.

#8 Black male with a small white spot on his throat.

And finally, all 8 with mom!

I'll take #2!!

They look wonderful and I'm glad mom had a smooth delivery and none of the kittens were lost!

The cream colored ones might be "buff" tabbies... one of my favorite colors!! My girl cat, Kahlua, is a buff tabby, and she is the softest cat EVER. I'm glad your momma is doing well, and I hope the babies continue to thrive!!!

:)

i love that last pic of her nursing! they are all beautiful and i really like the name cleo.
i am not a huge cat person but last year at my work there was a litter of kittens abandoned........we think the mom was hit by a car. me and a woman from another office spent severasl day until we caught every one. my co workers wife took them all in and took care of them and then got them into furever homes! i dont think you will have a problem doing that with these cuties!

Oh wow. I love the diversity of colors. They probably have several different fathers ;)

Congrats on the babies. They are very adorable.

*lots of high pitched giggly noises of cute* Lookit the little fuzzykins! Got an idea for names yet? My favorite method is to pick a theme and name along it. The litter of 9 puppies I fostered were all named after gods from different ancient cultures (Poseidon, Kali, Loki, etc.). Others included spices (Ginger, Basil, etc.), fabrics (Cotton, Corduroy, Satin, Denim, etc.) and pastries (mama's name was Muffin, so there was a Bagel, Jelly, Cinnamon, Sugar, etc.).

They're all adorable! Thanks for the pics.

Unfortunately, despite hand feedings and vet visits, four of the kittens passed away. =/

Remaining four and mom are doing good now, weights are consistently gaining. I'm down to just supplementing as they're nursing like little champs. I'm going with Olympic champions for names, so we have:

Shaun:

And Lindsey (who is indeed a blue cream calico):

They are all adorable. I am sorry about the ones that passed :(.

Awww, I'm sorry 4 didn't make it :( With momma not having the best living situation before coming to you, it doesn't really surprise me. Also, 8 is a huge litter! I had two pregnant strays last summer, and they had 9 kittens combined. The four you have left are simply adorable!! Any more news on your other foster, is she pregnant too?

I'm so sorry to hear about the other four babies. :( I hope the remaining four continue to thrive. they are absolutely adorable and in very capable hands.

Awww Mish I'm sorry that you lost some of the babies :( Good luck with these remaining kitties, and with Becky.

Update:
All the kittens got URIs, Bode passed away. I thought it was from the URI but it turns out he may have had FCKS (Flat Chested Kitten Syndrome) as one of the remaining kittens, Shaun, has it. I didn't know about FCKS until two days ago, that plus the URI probably did a number on Bode. =/ The remaining three have improved after a week on Zithromax.

Becky is definitely pregnant as well, I estimate she will have her litter sometime next week.

I set up a webcam for them - I JUST set it up about an hour ago so there are some settings I have to adjust yet (like taking away the chat), I will get to it later today. But the remaining three, with an occasional nursing cameo from their mom Cleo (and hopefully Becky when she gives birth), can be seen here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/fondas-foundlings-kitten-cam
