So, at some time this morning, my breeding pair of chins had babies :D

I have looked up online about everything before I got them, however, when they have a pair of chins and you're only used to them having one at a time... it's kind of hard not to freak out.

I was hoping for other breeder knowledge, that's why I'm posting here, any 'you don't know wht you're doing' stuff really won't help, so please, stick to helping :D

Right so, here's the question.

Mummy, a standard chin has just had 2 kits with a wilson white, they've been breeding before I got them so they were great for a first pair of chins. They came with their son, then, abotu 6 months after I got them, they gave me another white baby. Anotehr 6 months and I have this amazing pair of babies,, a standard and a white mosaic. However, the standard seems weaker, less able, has barely opened its eyes and I estimate that it's been here for a few hours atleast, I'mma say about half 8 she gave birth to the white, that's how big Myka was and how incontrol of his body was at that age.

Anyways, I'm unsure what to do here, the white is bullying it, won't let it suckle from the same side and it just looks weaker and weaker the more I look at him, the mum isn't really doing much but letting it suckle for a little bit then goes with the white one and leaves him. Then the white will come and fight with him, push him over and.. all that, no biting as I can tell. But they grey is half the size of the white...Honestly, he looks like he's been here a few hours, not even that, the mum is still bloody. But I'm not sure that it's possible that he's a day or a few hours younger than the other one.

What are his ods and is there anythign I can do to help him survive? I have seperated them from their dad and are in a babyproof cage. I also have possible buyers for one or both if they get alongas they get older. So I have everything worked out for their safety and their wellbeing, I wwouldn't let anythign bad happen to them :)

But yea, I'm a bit out of my depth here, I really wan thim to make it, and I'm not sure he will at the rate like this.

Please reply soon, would love some breeder info. Can get photos is wanted, just they won't be great as I don't wanna pick him up until I see that h e's settling in enough and is stronger. howver i should be able to get one of the size difference if need be.

Thank you in advance.
PS. Soryr for the bad typing, I have a splint on my finger

You need to start handfeeding the weaker one. Or rotate out the bigger one and let the little one suck. I'm sorry but you really should research more on breeding. You should have read that somewhere. I'm in school so can't give you details but you need to search the forum on handfeeding immediately !!!!

I have been, trust me, I wouldn't let that kit go without knowing everything I can find, I looked up ALL of this before I got them, and I did it again when Myka was born, and again when these were, however internet doesn't help when you would like breeder information, helpful advice that THEY found helpful to save the kit.

I already know about the handfeeding/time swaps, I just would like help from breeders that have done this before. I don't go into owning animals without looking into them first, I hate people that do that, so why would I.

Luckily, the kit's eyes are starting to open and he's trying to defend himself a bit now

If you already know about handfeeding, rotating, and fostering (if you have another nursing female available), there's not much more an experienced breeder can tell you other than sometimes there's nothing you can do. Not all kits make it, despite your best efforts. You have to cope with that if you're breeding.

So here's my advice: Rotate. Handfeed if he's still not gaining weight. Hope for the best.

And what do you mean by defending himself. You have to take the bigger one out of the cage to let the little one.nurse....the longer he fights with the other baby the weaker he will get
