It looks like Herby is having tooth problems again, but I am not sure how bad this time. I walked by her cage tonight, and as usual, she was there to greet me and beg for scritches..

When I gave her the scritches, I noticed her chest and chin were soaked, as were her paws. Immediately, I checked her food it was not even half gone. And this was her softened food, too. I have been feeding her both dry and wet food, which she eats well, since her first tooth filing in December. My next idea was to check the water bottle, but it is working fine. That is when I noticed her pawing at her mouth, so I checked her teeth and it looks like her incisors are too long. I am going to call the vet tomorrow first thing and try and get her in this week.

She has been chewing like crazy the last few days, so this is all of a sudden really. She even chewed on some loofah, which she never does.
I just need some good vibes, because with my husband deployed, I would have to make the ultimate decision by myself should it be worse than just her front incisors needing to be trimmed.

Other than giving her CC and monitoring poos and pee until I get her into the vet, is there anything else I can do?

Do you have Metacam left over from the last trimming? If you do, giving her a dose wouldn't be a bad idea until you can get her into the vet tomorrow.

Sending good thoughts to you and Herby.

awww herby..........i am definitely sending good thoughts your way.

i had richies teeth trimmed in june and than again in august but have not had to again.
maybe one more trim will do the trick?? or maybe it is time to let her go. either way we will all be here for you. hugs to your and herby.

Thanks guys! Herby has an appointment tomorrow to have her teeth looked at. It was the earliest they had and she is still eating well and eliminating superbly, judging by the pile of poop that I found outside her cage last night..( she really likes to throw it :) )

I am hoping that everything turns out well, but if not, I will smother her with love and all the raisins she will eat and then will let her make that journey over the rainbow bridge. Thanks for all the good wishes, they are greatly appreciated!
