So I've been using eBay for a while now. I fix Red Ringed 360's and re sell them as refurbished 360's. Well, when I first started, I sold about 5 of them and made around $1000. ALL of that was put on hold by paypal. I had to spend $80 out of pocket to ship something that I (basically) haven't been paid for. I was informed that after a while and some positive feedback that this would stop. Well, that money has since been unlocked and placed in my bank account (a few months ago), but EVERYTHING I sell is STILL being placed on hold. WHY? I NEED the money. My job was slow this week, I worked 30 hours last week, but am only working around 20 this week. I know it seems stupid, but i've got 100% positive feedback and i'm just pissed with ebay/paypal right now. If I had known this then I would've just used CL.

Sorry, just needed to vent:(

Before you say anything, I do have an E-Chin fund, but that isn't for this kind of thing.

I used to sell stuff on ebay with paypal and I am pretty sure they hold payments until at least the person gets the item shipped to them. I sold small, light stuff like old clothes and shoes so the shipping was never too much, and when I sold books it was through media mail shipping which is cheap, so I didn't care too much about it.

That's a bummer, sorry. I had all positive feedback too but it was always like that. I stopped using ebay when they started really charging for listings. CL might be better, you can try it out.

I know when I used to use Paypal, there was like a $500 limit or something that you could withdraw per year. Maybe it's something like that? Could you call Paypal and ask them why the money is being put on hold?

Paypal holds money that's over $500 just because of security reasons. It's probably because it's such a large amount, but you should contact them and find out what's going on.

These are reasons why Paypal/eBay will put your items on hold:

You have been an eBay member for less than 6 months, and you sell an item for more than $100
You have an eBay feedback score of less than 100, and you sell an item for more than $100
You have a buyer dissatisfaction percentage* greater than 5%
You have an average DSR of less than 4.5
You have received fewer than 20 Detailed Seller Ratings in the last 12 months
You are listing your item in a high-risk category such as gift certificates, video games, cell phones, computers, or consumer electronics.
