Need help

to cut a long story short my chinchilla had ended up under the floor boards and there is only one way to get in and out bare in mind i cant even get my hand through that hole, i was just hoping if anyone has and advice or tips to get him back so i know hes safe.

Put his dust bath near the hole. Also try treats. Give him some time and he should come out on his own.

Is there a crawl space or basement under the floor? You may need to check down there.

thanks , but ive tried the dust bath and treat trick but nothings working it could be cos hes sleeping somewhere as its during in the day, hes got into the floor boards on the second floor of the house so i occasionally hear him... i just cant believe it because i have let him in that room so many times to run around and he has never even attempted to go through it i didn't even realize there was a gap, what ive done is left his cage by the gap and got a couple of treats and a dust bath in it but ive "rigged" the door to close when he eats the treat...fingers crossed

Redd, I had this happen to me. My chin squeezed under a closet door and down a tiny hole hidden by a pipe. Your best bet is to rip up some of the floor boards so your chin has a better escape. The hole might not seem easy to get to if he has to be very exact in his jump up.
