I do NOT know what to name this girl! She's a big fat standard, in the 780 range (she wouldn't hold still for me to weigh her).

First day I brought her home - she was not pleased!

Picture her former owner sent me in an email.

I've heard so many good names, I just can't pick one! What do you think?

I like names from Greek mythology...but that's just me, lol.

There are the muses and out of them I really like Thalia who is the muse of comedy. Since chinnies can be so comedic...thought it might fit! :D

Also, Phoebe which was one of the original titans, also fitting for a big girlie! Rhea and Themis are also good names and more of the original titans.

I named my station wagon (I name everything I own...) Bessie. I have a Ford Taurus wagon and it's so wide and huge. So fatties remind me of the name Bessie, in an endearing kind of way. Also, her predecessor, which I didn't own but were in the same garage (my mom's car) was named Bessie (also Ford wagon).

I usually go with a name that's sentimental to me, but if you don't have one just pick one. All in all, a name's not going to change much. I kept my chin's name from her former owner because it was easy and I'm pretty sure Chloe doesn't really care what her name is as much as she does that I give her scritches and fresh food everyday heh.

We had a wonderful female English bulldog as a child who was named Bessie Lee after a Bluegrass singer my dad liked. That dog was very stought but the best little girl in the world so it's a name I am partial too.

I like the name Bertha too and my Great Grandma was named that but in Hungarian it is pronounced without the h.

Of the ones you listed, I chose Bessie but I quite like Bertha too, lol.

I gotta put my 2 cents in for the name Mousse. I think its pretty much fits any chinchilla who is well...got a little more to love. I mean I know I love Mousse and I'm a chunky monkey so why not her ?? LOL

That is cute, lol!

Last night I sat down with fatty and went over the list of names with her. She kacked the whole time, so I told her she was a grumpy fat thing and that her name shall be Bessie because it fits her.

In any case, I am intensely pleased with the name Bessie. :D Thanks everyone!!

While I STILL love the name Jenny Prozac, I think that Bessie is a great name for a big girl!!! Hope she likes it, too!!!

Welcome, Bessie!!! :flowers4:
