While this is not the thread for it as this is a question on what to name chinchillas, many breeders consider and good pet owners consider water a very important part of a chinchilla diet besides good hay and pellets. Colloidal silver put into the water is used by many as a supplement to improve herd health and fur quality.

Have you done any research on this besides what people say? I just got done and if you actually go to information sites such as the FDA, Mayo clinic, Stanford Hospital, Sloan-kettering cancer institute-I am just starting my research, this product is NOT to be used for pregnant women, it can cause abnormalities to the fetus, it can cause kidney damage with long term use and cause seizures, if it does this to humans, what on earth can it do to chinchillas especially pregnant ones and kits? I am willing to bet no one has done research above and beyond hersay and looking at pro-silver web sites.

Okay, slow down, I'm answering each post individually, so if you posted multiple times, look for your name. Here goes nothing-

Cassi- Because I don't see why any of the others wouldn't be just fine waiting. My opinion though, they are my chins and I can see how they are doing.

Kathiva- That's what I plan on doing, thanks for mentioning it though. :)

azmexaggie- It is colloidal silver.

ticklechin- There isn't anything lacking necessarily, but as Laurie said it can help with fur quality and health, I was given it by another (very successful) breeder.

Lauralynn- I'd rather just fix them. But that's my opinion.

Claire- Yes, I am going to continue breeding. I have support from people here in Colorado who WANT me to continue breeding, who WANT to help me, who WANT to help me kindly (and still effectively.) Yes, these are for breeding. These two are upstairs, the others are downstairs. I HAVE listened to people on here, I HAVE listened to breeders who AREN'T on here, I'm mergin the opinions into my own, if that makes any sense.

ticklechin- No, I have done research on it. I just only found good things, would you mind post those sites for me, that would be GREATLY appreciated :)

I don't understand this. You say you think the problem in your herd is the feed yet you happen to feel comfortable on keeping them on it for longer then really necessary. I see this as a convenience thing.
