Jax Chinchilla Rescue
Well, I had vowed to myself when I went to the ECBC show in NC that I wouldn't come back with a chin. I even made it a point to leave my carrier at home. Well, I happened to be walking through all the show animals before the show started and I couldn't take my eyes off this little guy.
I have always wanted a violet, so I asked Tiffany (threewingedfury) and Therese (silverrose) to come take a look at him and they both agreed he was pretty. I fought with myself for the next few hours on whether I needed another chin. When the violets finally came up to the show table Ralph just kept moving him towards the front! Then he finally made his decision and named him the class champion!
That pretty much made my decision, and I put in my claim. Apparently it was meant to be too because lo and behold I won the carrier that was in the raffle! Yay me!
So here is my little storm cloud now home. The poor baby just sat in the corner of the cage for about 4 hours until he finally got up enough guts to do a little exploring. Now he is nice and snuggled in his tube.
And this is his quarantine cage. I hope he likes it!
There is no chin in the cage next door. I set up a few cages in my living room for the Arlington rescues, so when I got home the cage was already set up and ready for him.
This is all I have for now since he is a bit scared, and I didn't want to scare him even more the the bright flashy thing. He's so beautiful! Now to think of a really fitting name.
