Goodness. Too bad you can't put the brothers together for a while to calm them. I am glad she is eating. I would want her at home ,but then again, it is nice to already be at the vet if anything goes wrong. We are all pulling for her!

I would put Butchie, who is the brother living with Princess, in with my dogs in a heartbeat. We're just a few hours apart and going back and forth with the doggies doesn't work.

I'll hopefully see everyone on Saturday. My only problem is that I am picking up 15 chins on Saturday and I don't know how long I can stay up in Phoenix. This was a bad week for this to happen!

Princess came home tonight. I'm just hoping that she gets better rapidly. They are giving her a few different drugs to keep her body going until it can start producing platelets and the blood count is back to normal.

In a few days it will be easier to say if she will make it or not. The treatments and transfusion did something to help...without it she would have died on Monday for sure. It's just a waiting game.

So...between this, the normal stuff and all the other extraneous crazy stuff from the last few days I am a little out of my mind. Disregard any insane PMs, answering machine messages or emails that just don't sound right. (You all know who you are.)

I just got off the phone with my mom. Apparently Princess's platelets are up to 30,000...that's overnight. She hasn't been passing any blood or clots... I think she's recovering. Keep your fingers crossed that she'll keep going in this direction!!!

My mom said that Princess is going to be just the same as she was last week it only cost $2600 to keep her the same.

It's worth it, it's totally worth it. Sometimes you just have to wonder why things like this just have to happen.

Here's my theory. My mother and her husband used the miles that they have earned on their credit card to fly to a dream vacation in Hawaii. They were gone until Thursday of last week I believe...I think they were gone for over a week. Princess is in love with her daddy and her daddy was gone. Now, what happened is that Princess was so upset that she made herself sick! I don't know if that is even possible, but it was really strange timing.

It is possible....I have done it....recently. Of course, something has to be there to trigger, but it may or may not have happened without the stress (or would have happened at some other stressful point). Poor baby missed her daddy and then had to go through all this

I hope they can recover from the expense, but I know they are glad to have her home and getting better.

I sware, our animals are killing us (sometimes quite quickly) !

It wasn't THAT much, it could have been worse. It could have been $7000 or $8000. But, it still is a lot of money. They paid about 20 times more for that than what my van is worth for example. LOL

I'm so glad she's alright. I get to see her on Saturday hopefully!!

I'm very happy to hear that your mom's baby will be ok! My boss spent close to $10,000 for 2 surgeries and meds/chemo to have his dog with him for 3 more years. They were both diagnosed with cancer at almost the exact same time.

That's terrible, I feel bad for your boss and not because of the money.

I haven't heard from my mom today, but I am sure that everything is fine. The platelets going up is great. Princess has to go in for blood tests today and probably tomorrow. After that I think she will have to go in every week and be monitored for a few months.

It's almost like she did this for attention or revenge. She doesn't like it when her daddy isn't there to love on her all the time. I'll try to get some pictures on Saturday.

Whew. What a tough week! I hope all of you were a little bit less stressed the last few days than I was.
