Olallie, oh, no problem! I just never want to take credit for something I didn't make. I won a few awards, I plan to send the trophy, plaque, and ribbon to the maker when I send the helmet and shoes for the next suit. Plan to surprise her with them. She knows I won them, but she deserves to have them.
Rickman, lol, its okay, doorways in general are difficult. So are low ceilings, should I want to rear up or need to stand up. And yeah, the smiles and amazement is just so cool. In all truth, I am not one of those "I love children" kind of people. Like, I couldn't be a teacher, nanny, or day care provider. I think I would go insane. I have one daughter and she's easy. But I can't deal with all the temper tantrums, mess, etc that a herd of children can make. But I love to visit kids, lol. Like I love to visit schools with animals, Native American items, etc, and teach the kids about that one subject for a little while. Answer questions, etc. I love to entertain kids with the unicorn costume or in one of my other costumes for Halloween, renn faires, etc. I love all that. But I don't want the respondsibility of watching them, lol. So this business is perfect for me.
I get all the fun, no work. Least doesn't feel like work to me.
Last year for "Parent Career Day", I was working at a pet store, so I brought in my corn snake to talk to kids about pet care. And I was suppose to visit just 2 classes. The other teachers got wind of me bringing a snake and I was there from the time the buses arrived till when they left. I visited like 8 classes, it was totally nuts. All ages, I was so unprepared, because I was ready to talk to 4th graders, but suddenly I had K-5!! LOL
THIS year its gonna be even bigger when I bring Mia the unicorn and Jag the saber tooth cat. Not sure how in the world I am gonna pull this one off. Its a mixed bag...its career day...which means, I need to reveal my secret identity to little ones!! I may look into seeing if one or two of my friends will volunteer to wear the suit(s) so I can stand there and explain how I bring my special "Creatures" (my business is called Creatur-iffic, so all the animals, I called Creatures), to parties and events. Rather than ruin their growing minds by taking off the suit. Or I could bring the suits and show them how I put them on and how I walk around and let the kids put on the head, front legs, and feet. I'm gonna have to have a sit down with the teacher and/or principal on how its best to do it. Maybe do both. Older kids, show how it works. Younger kids, have a friend wear the suit and explain how I bring my Creatures to parties.
