I'm nervous to even say this in this forum but I gave my hedgehog away..I had him for a couple of monthes..I did a lot of research and reading before I got one..I asked a lot of questions and was told a lot of answers most were very accurate and helpful..I asked if hedgehogs smelled and was told no..Well that's true and not true..The hedgehog didn't stink but it's poo was awful..I did everything i could think of to help with the smell to no avail..I also didn't think he seemed very happy..I hear a lot of you saying how adorable and loving your hedgies are..Mine seemed very nervous all the time..I gave him to a friend who has had hedgies before..He has several exotic pets so I know he will have a good safe home..It's weird when I let my friend (Jason) hold Huey for the first time Huey seemed more calm and even curious..I don't know if it's male/female thing or maybe Jason just has a way with animals..I am going to miss him but I know I made the right decision and when Huey behaved the way he did when Jason held him it made the choice much easier..Thanks for all the advice and suggestions I was given and I hope you all have a many many years with your hedgies!!!!

I don't think anyone would be mad at you for giving your hedgie to a home that you believe is better for it. Personally, I'm glad that you were honest with yourself and found you hedgie a better home. ;)

If you feel that Jason is a better match for your hedgie then you did the right thing. I think you did a wonderful thing. I agree with Ash. Better to be honest with yourself and give your hedgie the best home he can have.

Oh, I am sorry. Just like people - sometimes they click with someone - sometimes they don't. That's just my thought. I'm sure you will miss him ;(
