Hi everyone! I'm relatively new...more of a viewer than a poster but I'm desperate for help and I haven't found an answer to this anywhere. So I'm having an issue with one of my boys. He refuses to bathe. He watches the others roll around and bathe..and may get in the bath house once in a while..but will just sit in there. He won't roll around and clean himself at all. I've tried using a house specifically for him (thinking he just didn't want to share), I've tried bathing him outside of the cage alone, but it usually just ends with me having to sprinkle dust on him and trying to rub it into his fur (gently of course). But he won't have it. Can anyone help me out with this? I don't know what else to do =(

My chin Ralphy hates bath houses, he will only take a bath in an open container, I use a large metal dog bowl for him to roll around in dust in. When he had the house he would just poke his head in and then come back out. So yeah I'd recommend trying like a mixing bowl or something to see if that does the trick. You are using dust right? Some people use bath sand which I hear isn't so good. I was going to say that if you are using sand, switching to dust might help too. If you aren't, then disregard that last bit.

Good luck! I'm sure other members will have good input

I have to agree with Anna - some chins do not like the 'house' and want an open container. Until he finally dusts by himself put some dust in his fur yourself. As Anna said if the 'dust' is the horrible sand stuff change to the real dust

That actually makes sense. I was thinking about that too but just wanted to see recommendations first. Yes it's dust. I use Blue Cloud. I'll try that tonight! Thank you so much =)
