Well, my first racehorse is now a hunter-jumper in WA. And he's loving his new career. So we decided to get two yearlings late last year (now 2yos), a colt and a filly from the same sire.

The colt, Il Marchese, is starting his breaking & training this week, while the filly, Miss Solana, starts mid-March. I'm really excited about both of them...more so about the colt as even my trainer has said he looks like he's going to be a big guy.

Here's their most recent pictures:

Thanks, Nancy...and they are so sweet. The farm Manager, Art, did an awesome job people-bonding them so when they are in paddock or a stall, you really don't need a halter on them. They (and the others on the farm) behave almost like well-trained puppies!

I'm soo jealous! they are SOOO pretty!!! Is Trixie Girl a cribber? Or is that something else around her neck?

Thanks.

Actually, they both have a "number collar" on instead of a tag on their halter. A farm I used to work at used tags, but constantly replaced them as they get chewed off over time. This way you can ID them fast in the paper and computer files. She's "21" and he's "18".

OO! Ok!! I see the difference now. My moms horse use to be a cribber and it kinda looked like the halter was used on him. But they are VERY pretty!!

Are they standardbreds? I live on a standard bred farm. My landlady is an owner/breeder/trainer and does harness racing at Cal Expo. Your horses are beautiful.

They are gorgeous! Mark looks similar to the horse I had. I was a stud groom starting at age 13. (I lied about my age)

If you were tall and mature like I was at 13, they probably asked when did you graduate high school. ;-)

Nope, they are TBs (Thoroughbreds). Their Sire is Anziyan Royalty, the only horse to have beated Lava Man twice, before Lava Man became a SuperStar.
