Hi all! I am Patty and my family just adopted 2 wonderful girls, Daisy May and Pippin!

I have had chinchillas before so when we walked into the small animal room at our local rescue and saw their cute little faces I was smitten right away.

Pippin is 5 and is a bit of a chunk. She has had the hardest time adjusting to her new home. But we just moved them into a bigger cage and she seems happier.

Daisy May is 3. Apparently when she was young she had some sort of eye infection and is now almost blind in her right eye. You wouldn't know it though! Her coat also looks like she is a fur chewer. Honestly though, I have never seen her chew her fur. The story from her previous owner is that she also had a skin issue and her fur never grew back right. Don't know if that makes sense or not.

They are just the cutest things and we are having so much fun with them here. Like I mentioned, the cage they came in was better than a lot but I still felt it was to small and boring. So we just got them a bigger cage. I made a bunch of pine shelves and have been ordering goodies up the wazoo from members here. Can't wait for it all to arrive!

I have already learned so much just by reading this site every night. Thank you all so much.

Now some pics!

Welcome to CnH. :)

Congrats on the new girls and thank you for taking in rescues.

Welcome to the group. All 3 of your girls are adorable!

Sounds like you are off to a good start and thank you for saving them.

Welcome! And I love your chunky girl! :D

Thanks! And they can't wait to get all their goodies from you. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! And yes, all of our pets (2 chins, 2 GPs and 2 dogs) are rescues. It's how we roll. But I can see myself needing one of those cutie beige girls one day, they are just the sweetest things!

:wave3: Welcome to the forum! Congratulations on your rescued chinnie girls. That last pic of your little girl with them is just adorable.

Welcome. Your girls are adorable. I'm sure they are LOVING their new home. The last picture you posted is precious. :D

Congrats on your new babies! The pics are very cute!

Thanks! We love it! Although, Sonoma is not exactly a pit either!

Yes, we really love the Bay Area, but I do miss the mountains. Even though I was only a "Front Ranger" as my cousin in Telluride calls me! :D I always thought I would retire (do people do that anymore?) to Summit County, but now my blood has thinned... don't know if I could handle the snow!

You could get it back! The Hubs is from Oakland/Walnut Creek... he has adjusted.
