I live in South Africa and just love love love Chinchillas! I own 4 Chinchillas 3 female and 1 male.
Dusty- Standard Grey Male age 5 months
Misty- Hetero beige female 6 months
Snowy- Pink White Female 9 months
Pepper- Pastel/Brown Female 6 months

I love that this site has such an international member base, (even though it's mainly North America). I know even here in Los Angeles most people don't seem that familiar with chinchillas, how common are they where you are?

Well not that common, but very expensive really depending on color. We pay R5000.00 for pink white mosiac and the rare colors, roughly about $770 each. how is your prices?
