Are mint leaves, raw carrots okay to give a hedgehog as a treat? Are there any other veggies that can be given to hedgehogs fresh without having to cook them? Besides romaine lettece (i think i read that somewhere).

I just got Piglet yesturday and he hasnt eating much. On the trip home I saw him eat 1 dry mealworm. He isn't very cranky and has let me handle him very well; Holding him, picking him up to move him to a safer area, petting him, he burrowed into my pajama pant leg and started to snooze for a while too...
BUT, I just wish he'd eat/drink more. The owner gave me a blend of her mix and I heard him munch a little bit last night. But theres still some there in his bowl. During bonding time I put a mealworm in his face and he sniffled a little and then he bit it but he didn't eat it, just kept roaming about lol. His stool has been normal color too and good consistency.

No raw carrots. They are a choking hazard. No lettuce. Cooked veggies such as squash, sweet potato, peas. Corn is difficult to digest.

Grapes and raisins are toxic and possibly avocado.

Don't offer any new foods or treats for at least a week and then give one at a time so you can make sure it doesn't upset his tummy.

thanks nancy! hopefully he'll munch a bit more on the breeders mix tonight...but there's not much left really. Tomorrow I'm going to buy 1 or 2 of the cat foods the breeder had him on. ^^ '
