This is Zoe', a rescue, that was given to me quite unexpectedly. She is about 7 months old and a beige, though not sure what kind.

Excuse the cage, like I said she came to me quite unexpectedly and the cage I have ordered from 4 J's is not ready yet.( I ordered it for my other chin but it will be Zoe's now ) I will be going tomorrow to buy a temporary one until that one arrives.

I have her quarantined away from my other chin and will not be putting them together after quarantine is over. The food that was given with her was chock full of treats so I have cold switched her to Oxbow along with their line of hays, which she seems to like.

I have read through the threads on here about quarantining, but is there anything else I should know about it?

Zoe is a very nice looking girl for a rescue. It looks as though she's been quite well cared for. Congrats on your unexpected arrival. =)

She is beautiful. Not what I was expecting when you said rescue, she looks great! I think you are doing all of the right things. Wash your hands well between chin cages and if you hold one you should probably change your clothing. It is really hard to do a proper quarantine but do what you can :)). Better safe than sorry I always say!

Thank you Carol Anne..she came to me from a friend of my sons, where she was taken care of very well,( minus the food ) but for personal reasons could not keep her any longer. It seems that they remembered that I had a chin already and that I had made a comment about stealing her away.. :) So, when I got home from running errands today, she was waiting for me with a note.
Lucky for me, I already have one chin so its not a huge problem to be surprised like this. I had extra of everything except the cage and a water bottle. I bought a water bottle and I am going to buy a cage tomorrow.

Thanks!

I actually have these disposable cover alls that my dad gave me to where when I work on the cars with him, so I am thinking about using them. And I do not go into the room where she is at unless necessary. Both for quarantine reasons and to give her time to settle down.

I guess I should say surprise addition instead of rescue..lol ;)

A rescue and a surprise addition can sometimes be the same. I went to pick up two "rescue" boys last weekend b/c they absolutely had to be out of the house before Monday OR who knows where they would have ended up. I told my husband about the mission and he said that maybe they should be put down if they're in such bad state but I said I think they're being fed okay but I have no idea what shape they're in so be prepared for the worst.

We picked up the two boys almost two weeks ago and they were the best looking rescues I've ever seen: Buster is a huge grey chin and Rupert is a smaller beige chin but obviously both were well fed and very friendly but are lacking for attention. I still call them my rescue boys though b/c who knows where they would have ended up if we didn't bring them here. I am hoping to find them a wonderful home though, but that will be a process for sure.

congrats, she is very pretty. sounds like you have everything covered. if they share play areas just make sure to clean that area too.
i know herby isnt feeling herself and if you need to make that decision, i think zoe will help out in that area. so she just might have been the perfect surprise.

That is exactly what my son said today. I talked to all of them about it today and we are all in agreement that we need to what is best for Herby, to make sure she is not put through unnecessary pain.

As for pay areas, I think for the quarantine period, I will keep them in separate play areas. Herby usually has free run of my sons room and I will let Zoe' use my room. And I hopefully will have the dining room chin proofed by the end of quarantine, so she can play in there.
