I feed Oxbow because it's very easy to get here and though I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's "cheap", it's reasonably priced and is in fact cheaper than Mazuri. My chins love it, too.
My chins were on Mazuri before they came to me and they seemed to be doing fine on it. I have no beef with Mazuri; I just personally prefer to feed Oxbow.

My chins have been on mazuri for years. I just bought a bag of oxbow to feed Taz to see if he would eat that. Unfortunately I had to put him to sleep, so I have been feeding the oxbow to my other three chins. They seem to like it alot so far. I didn't realize how much different they mazuri and the oxbow was as in size and color. I will see if they continue to do well on the oxbow. If so, I might switch them to oxbow as I can get it here from the feed store.

When my chins were on Mazuri a few of them would have soft poo. I attended a seminar 2 years ago and it was discussed how great Nutrena Rabbit feed is for chins. I switched and have had no problems at all with soft poo. My chins LOVE the Nutrena and eat all of their pellets with no digging and tossing either.

and their poops are pretty, lol.

Only a Chin owner or other small pet owner appreciates poop.

I feed oxbow because of hearing about the possible soft poos since my one girl did have a case of bad poo before I switched and I love it. Both girls seem to love it.

I am glad to see that Oxbow is highly reccomended.
I am going to see about ordering OXBOW when it comes time to get a new thing of food for my 3..i am still getting used to them & how much they eat. I know Oxbow is the leader in guinea pig food, and thier hay smells amazing!! (lol)

I know we have a local petstore who special orders the Mazuri pellets for my parrots.. (and it's NOT cheap! $54 for a 25 lb bag!) and they also special order Oxbow. My only other choice is petland, and I choose to NOT support them...

I know several people whose chins had squishy poo problems with Mazuri, my own included. I tried it more than once (carefully transitioned) but it happened every time. I know alot of people use and like it, but I also know a bunch who had the soft poo problem as well. So if you try it, and your chins get soft poo, it probably is the Mazuri.

I have one cage (3) on Kline, and my newest ones (4) came in on Purina Advanced Nutrition Show. No problems with either one.

I have one that will eat nothing but Oxbow and one that will eat nothing but the Mazuri, so I buy and feed both. The one that is on Mazuri is also my dental chin and after her last trimming would not eat the Oxbow so I got some Mazuri and she devoured it, so I keot her on it.
Both are good feeds and I thin it is just a matter of personal preference on boht the chin and the owners part..
