ok so i ordered 2 bags of the mazuri food and went and got it today....a 25 pound bag was $16!!!! Is that normal pricing???? I am paying $14 for a 50 pound bag of purina rabbit show....so im kind of annoyed with that....is mazuri THAT much better?????????

if the food isnt that much better i dont want to keep getting that because im getting half for the same price which kind of sucks when you have alot of chinnies to feed lol.....she couldnt tell me a price when i asked she said shed have to wait till it came in

i love the show chow but ive noticed that about a quarter of my chinnies have dropped some weight so i was trying to find something that would fatten them up lol

That price is actually pretty decent for Mazuri. Where I get it, I pay $14, but my parents get it at a place that charges $24 (both for the 25 pound bag). If I decide to move back up north, I am finding them a different supplier. But yeah, it's just more expensive in general.

It all depends on what your chins do good on. I've gotten in several chins lately that have been on different feeds, Shoots and Tradition, and I've been surprised, I weighed the whole herd again and though they were good weights to start with, several of them have gained some weight on the Mazuri, and it's what I can find locally, so I'm happy with it. But it does depend on how the chins do on it.

that is about the price I pay for Mazuri and I pay $18 for the rabbit show. I mix them together. I figure that way, the price is a little better and they have the best of 'both worlds'. The weight on my chins is better that way

Yep, that's a pretty average price. It is 15.75 here. Sometimes the decisions we make for the better interest of the chins isn't nice to the wallet.

barb (mt zion) & i get from the same place, so yes that price is in line with standard pricing. but keep in mind........mazuri is "marketed" & "manufactured" for chinchillas and PRSC is "marketed" & "manufactured" for rabbits.
i used to use mazuri & switched to the PRSC because they didnt seem to be eating the mazuri but now i am thinking it may be that it wasnt fresh and i am thinking of getting a bag & doing the mix as well. i have one chin that doesnt like the PRSC and he gets mazuri anyway and i am almost out.

Another reason I like to mix the two is because Mazuri in small amounts is easy to get so my new chin parents can get it easier for thier new chins and the chins will have no trouble adjusting to it
