Matted Fur

Anubis has a small patch of matted fur on her side. It was a small fur slip, but it never came out all the way and ended up becoming matted. I don't have combs. How can I get it out? Should I find a comb and comb it out? Should I cut it out?

I would just give it a gently pull and pull it out. It should slip right out

I gently pull out mats like that, too. It doesn't hurt them, just go about it very slowly.
