Now that she has settled in better and I can handle her more, I have discovered the beige chin that I recently acquired from a rather heartless lady has mats. It is about 6 months old and had no dust baths since the other owner purchased it until I brought her home. She also told me it was a male, but it is very clearly NOT a male! :err:

ANYWAY, how do I go about dealing with the matting? Does it need to be spot shaved out? Will it eventually come out with dust baths and gentle brushing over time? I was a groomer for a few years, and I still have my tools and experience in shaving matted dogs and cats, but I don't know what the proper course of action for a matted chin is.

Also, I am in need of purchasing some more Blue Cloud... Links to sites where I can purchase more would be very helpful if anyone has them!

Thanks guys!

Kristy has the right answer. Pull them out and the new fur will start to grow right back in right away.

Some of the smaller ones pulled right off, but she has some bigger ones (about the size of a half dollar) that aren't pulling out and she is getting very upset with us after all of the tugging, so I decided to give her a break. Her coat is such horrible condition...
