Mats on butt

I switched to fleece liners about a year ago and since then I noticed my little girl gets mats on her underside near her butt. They may be a little yellow sometimes too. I think she might hang out in a spot after she pees and it gets on her. I read other threads where people suggested just holding onto a mat and letting her try to hop away and it will just slip out. I have tried this but am I going to pluck her butt bald? Does this hurt her? I know it probably isn't comfortable to have them pulled out but I don't want to harm her or hurt her. I could just leave her with a feathery butt but I don't know if that is very sanitary.

You can try wiping her off with unscented baby wipes. Try working that into the yellow parts and see if it helps loosen them up a bit.

If the fur is a chunk sticking out, it will eventually work itself out. I've had those on my girls on occasion and I'm too much of a wimp to pull them out. So I just leave them and eventually they work out enough that I can pull them and they come out freely.
