So, yesterday, I went with my boyfriend to go get some food for his snake and monitor. He warned me not to look in the bag, but I did. I couldn't let him feed it to his lizard, so I kept him. He has been doing great so far. Been feeding puppy milk to him and he eats about ever hour and a half. He is very active. So, introducing, Manchego.

So cute!
When I read you were feeding puppy milk to it I thought it /was/ a puppy. I was like oh gosh..till I clicked the picture, lol.

I am about to die of cuteness overload. Even my husband was all "AWWWWWWWW". He would be cute on his own, but him holding that syringe like that, and being so tiny, was what brought on the overload.

He's cute! I agree with Stacie. Frozen is better for both animals.

I have and he has tried. His snake won't eat frozen for some reason, even if he dangles it and moves it about.

It takes some training..they won't take to it at first, especially if they are used to eating live. Many people have successfully trained their snakes to go from live to frozen. The key is making sure the mouse is warm. I had to feed a snake that was boarded (then abandoned) at the vet office I worked at- we would boil water, take the water off the heat, let the mouse sit in it for about 15 minutes, then with tweezers sit the mouse infront of the snake and move it around by the tail. He was eating live when he was brought in but was successfully converted. I'm sure there's some tutorials written up on a snake forum/site somewhere.

Like Cindy said, better for both animals.

Omg he is precious! My husband too thought he was adorable. So tiny and cute.

aww that is so cute. when i had my snake we tried to feed her pinkies and she wouldnt eat it, so we decided to raise it ourselves. it was much younger than yours, it was a little smaller and had no hair. if i remember correctly we fed it cats milk. keep it warm because they get cold easily.

Well that's what your boyfriend gets for taking you with him to buy snake/lizard food. Seriously, he kind of walked into that one.

I agree, snakes can be taught to eat frozen. At the aquarium I worked at one snake came feeding on live, eventually we got it trained to eat frozen, it just takes more work. We thawed it out and warmed it up under a heat lamp so that it'd be more like a live mouse's temperature.
