A little more then a month ago my chinchilla's foot got pinched and it was red and swollen for about a week. Right when it happened i took all his ledges and his wheel out of his cage. He didn't stop eating or drinking, and it worried me that he still had tons of excitement because he's climb the walls of the cage sometimes and run around his cage quickly. His foot is not swollen at all and there were never any signs of an open wound or a cut anywhere just kind of an indent in the fur. He has so much energy and I don't want him to hurt himself before i bring him to the vet. I want to be able to put his ledges back in but he has a lump on his foot and i'm not sure if it's a fracture or maybe bone shards. It's not red or anything so i'm not really sure what it is. I'm hoping that someone else does

It could be a calcium deposit. It's possible he broke a bone in his foot and the calcium deposit is the result. Can you post a picture of it?

Also, since you're taking him to the vet, just leave the stff out of his cage until you return. Make sure the vet does an x-ray to be sure there is no splintering off of the bone.
