Lonely Chin?

Rocco barks a lot at night when I'm asleep (other people in the house hear it) and he seems like he wants attention no matter how much I give him. Do you think getting another chin would help?

Probably not. Some chins are just criers. I have 9 chins, it doesn't stop any of mine from randomly crying out in the middle of the night.

I agree with Ash. Does he have a cuddle buddy(ies)? If not, get him one or turn on a nightlight and see if that helps.

He has a nightlight but no cuddle buddy.

You may also want to play the tv or a radio for him so that it's not so quiet that every noise can worry him. Our chins love to watch tv.

Edgar, our first, is an attention hound and despite two more chinchillas he would rather play with us. I think Edgar could have been happy his whole life as a single chin.

Try getting a cuddle buddy and playing music. That is what I do for mine. She seems to enjoy the soothing music when I'm sleeping.

It may not be that he is lonely. My chin barks in her sleep sometimes, i think she has bad dreams =[ Just remember not all chins get along so, if you do decide to get a new one make sure you have a spare cage. I have four chinchillas, in one cage there is Tinker an Tainga in the other is Talia and Tiquita. Tinker gets along with Talia but HATES Tiquita and Tainga gets along with Tiquita but HATES Talia. Its kinda funny. As for the snuggle buddies, deffinatly got one chinchillas are adorable when they snuggle up with anything. Even though Tiquita has Talia to snuggle with, she still snuggles with her bear, Talia just joins in (so cute =])
