Three kits were born Novemver 16th. Two of them are normal size, but the third one is half their size. The bigger two were fighting with the runt so I took them out of the cage to give the runt a chance to feed. The mother is ignoring the runt. If I hand feed the runt myself, would it be alright for it to be in a separate cage with the father? This way the runt won't get lonely.

If it was me, I would try rotating out one of the bigger kits at a time and putting them in with dad (every 2 hours around the clock), while keeping the little one in with mom at all times. You can still hand feed occasionally, but mom's milk really is best. Mom might be ignoring the runt because the others are fighting.

The other thing is, mom's tend to ignore kits they don't feel will make it, or that have something wrong with them, so be prepared for that.

There's an FAQ under this section that gives you a recipe for hand feeding and tells you how to schedule it.
