What should you wash the liners with? And what should you dry them with?

I used to wash mine with vinegar and unscented detergent. I found that the unscented detergent and Borax works even better for me. I dry them on low! If they're particularly dirty/stained, I pre-treat them before hand to help with that.

I toss them in the bathtub/shower and pre-wash with whatever shampoo I'm using at the time; hang to dry; then toss them in with the rest of our laundry. We've used a number of different brands of laundry detergent with a common theme: free of scents and dyes. Skip the fabric softener/dryer/dryer sheets... just hang to dry.

A major thing to keep in mind when washing liners is that hedgehogs have very sensitive noses. Using scented detergents, fabric softeners etc can drive some hedgehogs "insane."

For mine we use a unscented detergent, vinegar if we have a stain (blood or diahrrea) and nothing in the dryer. Before going into the wash any stool is brushed off of the liners.

Ohh. This is good to know. My boyfriend just threw Penny's liners into the wash with our normal detergent earlier this week. I hadn't even really thought about it.
