I have to post this cause it is so funny. My chins have 2 lava rock ledges. They chew and always sit on their lava rocks that are about two inches from the bottom of their shelf. I give them a bath about 4 to 6 times a week. They roll underneath the lava rock ledge like it is a dust bath after they're done chewing the lava off of them and the bits of lava end up underneath them. It is so hilarious watching them lay on their backs underneath the rock. I am not sure how many times I should give them a dust bath a week. My one chin loves dust baths more than food. what is the appropriate amount of days to give them dust baths a week? I wish I could take a picture of them. Sometimes they just lay on their backs underneath the rocks and rub their backs on the bits of lava. am I giving them too many dust baths even though they love it? Is It bad for them?

I give my chins their dust bath 2 or 3 times a week, depending on the humidity and how their fur is looking. You don't want to dust them too much because it can dry out their skin.

Chins are silly...I have several that love to roll in their wood shavings. :))

Thank you. I probably spoil them too much! Somtimes they look really oily even after giving them a bath 4 times a week. My one chin goes crazy even if he just hears the dust bath bowl.
It Is even very hard not to spoil them wIth food, so I get them the Oxbow plain food and the fiesta mix and I take out all the treats out of the fiesta mix. It takes me an hour to get every single treat out except the pellets and I used the treats from the fiesta mix for their treats and just mix the extra plain pellets in with the oxbow all together.
