I've been feeling pretty crappy for the past week and a half... my sinuses started to swell, throat drainage, headaches, achey body, difficult breathing, coughing up gross stuff, clamminess, mild fever... the list could go on for days.

Friday I was sitting in a (theoretically, I'm not all that sure) air conditioned building on campus. It was so hot, I felt like I was gonna suffocate. Then I just started to drip sweat. Seriously, it was pouring out of me like I was a leaky faucet. My clothes got soaked and then I think I may have passed out but I'm not all that sure.

The minute I came back to full consciousness, I called the doctor and somehow drove the 20 miles there.

Guess who has walking pneumonia and sinusitis? Gah. The girls can't catch it from me, can they?

If it is viral then I have heard you can't give it to them. If it's bacterial then it's possible. I am always very cautious when I am sick around the chins or just get my boyfriend to take care of them.

Get well soon.

Hey Pash I just want to let you know there is no such thing as walking pneumonia! What you have is pneumonia--you are very ill and should NOT be walking. You need to lay low, rest and relax and take care of your body. This was a huge pet peeve of my mom's a retired nurse. Pneumonia is pnuemonia there's no pnuemonia or walking pnuemonia lol.

On a serious note I hope you do take some time to lay low and get better!

Be sure and wash your hands around your chins - I will never know for sure but I was also sick around the time some of my kits got pnuemonia last year.

I feel your pain I had the flu and sinusitis at the same time and I thought I was going to die.

If you can, have someone else take care of them while you are sick. If you can not do this, limit your interaction with them and when you do interact with them , mask and glove it! And wash, wash and wash again and use hand sanitizers!

Most importantly, Take care of yourself, get lots of rest and take your meds! Chicken soup and lots of fluids are advised as well!
Feel better soon, Pash!

Oddly enough, I'm actually starting to feel a lot better. I am wondering if the doctor misdiagnosed me, because I was looking stuff up and it really doesn't seem like I actually have pneumonia. I don't know though. Last night I had a pretty bad fever (for me anyway, my normal body temperature is 96.6F and last night I was hovering around 99.8F) and I threw up a few times. Woke up pretty groggy this morning, still clammy and weak. Going to the doctor again to get a note for school and then (hopefully) I should be back up and running by Wednesday at the latest.

Thank you all for your kind words and advice. I have been being very careful with the chins, but it's difficult as they are in my bedroom and my father absolutely refuses to let me put them anywhere else or sleep anywhere else in the house. He doesn't want to "catch [my] disease" and he doesn't "want those ****ing rats anywhere [he] can see them".

hope you are feeling better. sleeping it off is the best medicine, no matter what you have. rest is best!

hating the "rats" comment, sure it made you sad.

Would you like me to tell your dad that HE is a ****ing rat for you??? 'Cause I'm just the girl to do it!!!

Feel better soon!!! :flowers5:

My dad is kind of a jerk when it comes to animals... When I helped railroad a chinchilla (It was Fritz, he went to Crysta in Florida and sadly died a few months ago) from the NY/PA border to Carlisle, I had to keep the chin in the basement for a total of two hours. The cat wouldn't leave Fritz alone, so I put him in "Dad's" room... an unfinished room with typical "man" things in it. When Dad saw Fritz in there... let's just say that he threw one heck of a tantrum and screamed loud enough the neighbors heard...

He doesn't understand compassion for animals. Or people, actually.
