when my step kids mom told me she was getting them a guinea pig i knew right away it would either be dead or be in my care within 3 months.
i gave her oxbow hay & other hay i had around and printed out care sheets, gave her left over oxbow food from the texas rescue and generally tried to help.
she has been in the hospital for a week. she goes into the emergency room because she has no health insurance, no job, no car, no money because they cant refuse her. she does this once or twice a month. she has bleeding due to a poorly done gastric bypass and they cant operate unless it happens while she is admitted from the emergency room.
so today i ask her about the guinea pig and she says she has no idea if anyone is taking care of her, she "probably" has food but she doesnt know and that it is the last thing on anyone's mind. i i offered to take her for the weekend...........
why do people like this have pets?
this is not the first time she has neglected an animal.
