Jumping out of playpen

I recently adopted two male chinchillas. They're great the only problem is one of them keeps jumping out of the playpen. Most of the time I catch him right before he jumps over but with two its hard to keep taking both of the gate. Is there anything I can put inside the playpen to prevent them from climbing on it? It is about 30 inches high.

Either a proper 'lid' or a higher playpen. What kind do you have?

Covering the playpen will help. You can also let them out in a chin safe room, such as a bathroom. That is what I do when I let my girls out. Keeping an eye on two can be a challenge.

You can try a bed sheet to use as a cover.
