jealous mother rant and a intro question

Most of you know i've be doing introductions with Meimei and Davinci (they're both boys)

started about Oct 20?21?

it's gone so well to the point the boys get play dates every nights for hours

i've divided my FN cage in half so that da vinci can sort of move in

during day times when i check up on them they're both sleeping at the connecting part of the cage kind of on top of each other

so here's my venting ... the other day the play date is in da vinci part of the cage and i guess i should have used a nicer way of picking up mei mei but basically i picked him up by clamping both my hands together on both his side

he's never happy when you pick him up it's much easier to trick him into jumping on your shoulder for a small treat and then pick him up

any how play date is going wonderful now its 3 hours later, time for me to sleep and time for mei mei to go back upstairs

their both cuddled on the top ledge, da vinci moves a side and mei mei backs right into the corner and kacks me, i try to pet his head and a little scritch and he tried to bite me!!he didn't want to leave , i spent good 10 mins trying to get him out

T_T ... that un greatful meimei i have da vinci for him i changed 3 cagse for him , learn to sew for him and custom his cage just for his heath and fun, choose all the right food hay treats and tons of "correct" toys just for him

since having play dates with da vinci (usually from 1- 5 hrs a night) mei mei doesn't come to cuddle with me any more, he use to sit next to my arm or put his paws on my chest and i give lots of love, now he's only interested in
when is the next play date

i know it's childish and the "what did you expect?"
i thought he'd still come for cuddles and still play tons with da vinci

here's my question
is it too soon to take away the divider in the cage? isn't this suppose to take months, it's only been a week

the only kacking i hear from them is meimei being a bit frisky and or the two not being very good at grooming

when two chins bond with each other they both lose that bond with their human a little bit. so all those cuddles between Mei Mei and you are now cuddles with Da vinci. makes it a little sad when that happens, but i'm sure your boys are very happy being able to be together.

I'm also in the process of intro-ing my boys, but haven't made it to the point of them being in the same cage together yet. taking it super slow and taking my cues from the boys to see when they are ready. haven't seen any grooming at all, and they don't tend to be in each other's personal space much yet, so we've got a ways to go.

sounds like your boys may be ready to be together though. do you sleep in the same room as the cage? if so, and there is no squabbling between your chins, i would think they could be together for the night. unblock the hole between the two cage halves so that they have more opportunity to retreat into their own spaces if they need to.

when it comes time to have my boys together overnight, i'm going to be sleeping on the futon in the chin room for at least a week!
