Is this normal!?

Hi, I have a new chinchilla and he loves chewing on this mineral stone I got him... but also, when he is chewing it.. he starts doing somersaults around it, like he would in a sand bath?!! Is this normal? I think it might be because of the powder coming off it which is making him thinks its like a sand bath...

Chins are weird. Something you'll get used to. He could think it's dust so he's rolling, or he could just feel like rolling. I have chins that go crazy and roll in fresh shavings.

Is it a blue cloud rock? My girls roll and rub their faces on theirs!

I have chins that do that with their Blue Cloud rocks and their Lava Bites.

My chinchilla's LOVE to roll around in the dust from the blue cloud cubes and lava bites. So nope, I would say that is competely normal.

Oh yea. Nothing more fun then spending an hour changing cages only to have them roll around in it when your done lol.

And chins arnt alone in this type of behavior! Ferrets
