I made this in another thread so ill post it here directed by someone.
One of my male chinchillas have split whiskers and they seem to be almost like someone cut them off. I'm worried now because I heard one of my friends say that my chinchilla has a disease. Also another question. Can I keep my chinchillas outside like on my deck (My friend also recommended -.-) or inside? Where starting winter here so I do know that chinchillas can survive coldness. Right now my AC is telling me that it is 77* degrees and sometimes goes to 78*. :hmm:

If you're concerned, first thing is you should take him into the vet. You know your chin best and you know when he's sick. Even if he isn't, it'll give you peace at mind.
I think the temp you're keeping him at may be a little high. I keep mine at a constant 60 degrees, some might think that's too low, but it's what she's comfortable at. Other chins vary but I believe that you should not go above 75, or below 53. Since I got her my electric bill had inclined, but that's what you pay to have such an awesome pet!
I would always keep them indoors away from predatory animals and the higher chance of getting sick. Try to keep him in a nice quite room, make sure he's relaxed, they're easily stressed and can get sick from that as well.

But I hope he gets better!
