I bought a small grass mat at PetSmart, and my boy loved it. He would drag it around, and soon enough tore it to shreds. I got him a second one, as well as a larger one (about the size of the one in the link, I'd guess). He destroyed the second small one, although a piece of it still remains. The larger one: just uses it to pee on. I thought it was just my boy, so it's funny to see that others have had this happen.
I keep it around, especially since switching to fleece instead of bedding. I had left a box of bedding in his cage for him to use as a litter box, but he didn't so I took it out. I leave the mat in as one of his regular spots to pee. I've washed it before; it takes about a day to air dry.
