I got two female hedgies about a year ago from the same litter & they have been fine together.
I named them sugar & spice. Sugar is friendly & social but spice has always been grouchier.
They always sleep together in their house but a few days ago spice started sleeping everywhere but in the house & out in the open without trying to hide under the cage liner for privacy.
I was more surprised because she isn't very social & spends most of her time in the house. I checked her out & she seems ok, she is still as grouchy as always.
Is it possible that they are no longer getting along?

There are a number of things that can be going on. Is she still eating properly and pooping (these things get hard to tell when they are housed together). You may want to separate them so that you can figure out if there is an illness going on. How old are they? This too plays a part. Start weighing them both so that you have a way to monitor for change.

Agreed - separate them in case Sugar hasn't been so friendly to Spice and Spice is getting kicked out of the house.

Also, even if that isn't the case and she is sick, you'll be better able to monitor her food and water intake and her poo output. You might also be able to spare Sugar from whatever "bug" Spice has if it's contagious and hasn't infected Sugar yet.

I have them seperated now. I'll wait a couple days to see if I can figure out if spice is sick.

So spice has been seperated for two days. She is not eating & her poo is runny with a slight green tinge. Sugar appears to be perfectly healthy. Any ideas on what spice might have?
