I want to switch Ruby from Mazuri to either Manna Pro or PRCS. However, she is currently nursing her 2 week old kits. So, is it alright to transition her while she is still nursing or should I wait until the kits are weaned? I don't know if it will affect her milk production or anything else so I'm just asking to make sure. Also, I have another chin, Emmy, who is only 9 weeks old and I want to switch her from Tradition to the same feed I will be switching Ruby to. Is she too young to switch feeds? Thanks for any advice guys! :))

Personally I would not. Nursing is a time when you don't want any stress to the chin and changing feed can sometimes throw a chin off. Wait until after the babies are weaned and then do a gradual switch.

If you switch gradually the 9 week old kit should be ok. After all this is usually when some go onto their new homes, and often are switched to new feed.

agree with Christine at 9 weeks this is when they usually move out from mom and onto their own. A gradual switch should be just fine.

Hey so has the manna pro sho worked for you thus far? I just found out my Tractor supply store carries it and I'll go pick up a 50lb bag today and start transitioning off of mazuri if so

I'm actually switching to the PRSC but I haven't gotten it yet. I'm waiting for my local feed store to special order it for me :))

Make sure to check the mill date on the bag you buy because the TSC by me was carrying a bag of Manna Pro from January so it wouldn't be worth it to buy a 50 lb bag since it'll only be good for another 2 months.

Checked :) mine is from march. I ended up going after work cause I was so excited about it being close by haha.

Haha nice! You can always donate or sell any extra feed that you have. I'm donating like 30 lbs of my PRSC to the SPCA when I get it :))
