How many of you have dogs as well as your hedgies?

My boyfriend and I are getting a puppy in a couple weeks, he's good to go as of christmas. We're also getting a new place as of Jan.1st,
I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for not only moving a hedgie - but introducing a new animal too.
I know it can't all happen at once, waaay to stressful, especially for Squee who's already always on edge.
We're taking possession a little early so were slowly moving things in so by the 1st we'll be 100% in, then were going to bring Squee home. After we're all settled in for a few nights, then were going to bring in the puppy.
(Still have to puppy proof everything).
Also we got a new cage for Squee, so we're planning just to move him into in once we get to the new place, it's pretty big and ackward to move. Another question i have, is where do you normally keep your hedgies? We wanted to start keeping him in the living room, where he'll be around a little more action maybe get a little more comfortable around us. He's in the bedroom right now, which is usually really quiet, i'm wondering if that's why he's been taking a long time to warm up to us, well that and he's older so probably a little set in his ways.
Anyways I want to introduce my 'to be' new puppy - everybody meet Sawyer

OOOoooh He's beautiful :) haha I love the name! I'm a huge pitbull fan too, I think they are the sweetest animals ever - they're such big sucks.

Sawyers a bit of a mutt he's a cross; red heeler, great dane, great pyrenees, bullmastiff, pitbull, and boxer. Lol he's gona be my BIG boy!

cute puppy and cute dog. Off topic, but i hate stereotypes against animals. sure some are used to fight, but that doesn't mean that every single one has DNA lined with violence and aggression. For example Doberman Picnschers. One of my favorite dogs has such a bad rep that if anyone would see one they would freak out. Sorry i just had to rant about this and i didn't want to start a whole new thread. and to answer your question no i have no experience, sorry. haha.

Ive never had a pitbull that has ever bitten anyone or shown agression towards me.

Yes I agree! The lady I'm getting Sawyer off of, is having a problem like that. Everyone's all "Awww so cute I want one", but then as soon as she says there's pitbull in them, nobody thinks their cute anymore.

Your right! Any animal can be trained to be aggressive, just a doberman is alot scarier then lets say a chiuahaha. Haha, it frustrates me soo much. My mom for instance is an animal lover to the bone, my father and her have a nonporfitable organization DDARS - Duke and Dutchess Animal Rescue Society (www.ddars.com) Where they rescue abandoned and abused animals (mainly dogs) and rehome them, kind of like foster homes for puppies, but back to my point - even SHE is part of this hate-on for bigger animals such as a pitbull... which i find funny, since every pitbull she's ever rescued has been the BIGGEST sweetheart ever!
It boggles my mind sometimes!
