I've had my chinchilla Kiki, for about a year now. It was my first chinchilla, we got he from the classifieds and she was about 2 years. She was never exactly friendly. We could never hold her or touch her. But she did accept treats. In the pass few months, I tried to touch and pet her. She often stand's up and sprays urine. She also bites her fur. I googled it and someone mentioned something about her being lonely. I agreed, she seemed lonely. Also considering chinchillas are social animals. My friend recently bought a pair of chinchilla's, and didn't know the female the pregnant. The kits are now 4 weeks. The chinchillas are weaned and eating pellets fine. So today I bought one. The kit, and KiKi are both female. But have no relation and have never met. How can I introduce the two? I'm also a bit concerned Kiki might hurt the younger chinchilla. For now the kit is staying in a small different cage. But anyway's how can I introduce them slowly?
Thanks.

Thank you. :)
I think the Small Cage within Large Cage will be easiest.
This helped a lot.

Hopefully your friend has separated her two chins so she doesn't have any more babies. Weaning at four weeks is way too early. The youngest a chinchilla should be away from its mother is 6 weeks and even that is pushing it with some kits.

For the intro, the links Peggy (Tunes) posted should help you out. ;)
