I'm going to be in a George Clooney Movie

George Clooney and Ryan Gosling are in town filming their upcoming movie 'The Ides of March.' Someone from the production team came into the library today to see about using one of our lecture rooms as a holding space. My boss introduced us and 2 of my co-workers and I are now going to be extras. I'm so excited! They're supposed to call me on Wednesday for the final confirmation and filming is all day Thursday!:dance3:

Extras work is totally fun (when you're actually working!). But you have to take it seriously. Don't stare (or drool) at the stars (it can ruing the scene or get you fired), no cameras or cell phones, don't talk to them or ask for an autograph (unless you want to be one of those extras, unless (and this does happen) the stars start talking to you. I have seen stars ask that extras be taken off the set because they were too much like "fans". Do exactly what the extras handlers tell you to do, when they tell you to do it. "Back to one" means to go back to your original starting place (if you're asked to walk in the background). Also, bring something to entertain you in the holding room, most likely, the majority of the day you will be sitting around doing nothing in ....you'll likely not even be on the set! Oh, and if you are told to have a fake conversation in the background without making sound, just mouth "peas and carrots" with differing speeds and expressions.

I hope you have the look they want and you get a special scene (rather than just a passerby/background) Have fun!
